| Ventisit, world's best ventilating seat pad! |
|
The Ventisit pad was originally developed to prevent excessive transpiration on recumbent seats. The open structure of the Ventisit material ensures efficient ventilation. The Ventisit material also delivers some extra comfort through the resilience of the material. Meanwhile there are many applications designed for the Ventisit pads, including use in cars, wheelchairs, scooters, canoes, backpacks and boats.

Ventisit with anti-skid layer
29-12-2012
At Ventisit we are always looking for improvements to our seat pads.
Last year we successfully introduced Velcro fixation strips, so you
could detach and re-attach the pads quickly.
This year we have been busy testing anti-skid layers on the Ventisit
pad. When we started delivering our pads into a range of new markets,
for instance on canal boats and yachts, we found that we needed to add
an anti-slip layer to firmly attach the seat pads to flat surfaces,
specially when these surfaces are wet. In some of these markets it was
also not possible to add Velcro strips for fixation, like we do on the
recumbent seat pads, so we needed something else.
After much testing we have found that applying a layer of PU-coating to
the backside of our seat pads makes them almost feel 'sticky', specially
when applied to slippery surfaces. This makes our pads with this coating
applied very well suited for application in wet areas, but it is also a
big improvement for our existing markets. When applied to your recumbent
seat the Ventisit will be better fixed and near incapable of shifting.
This gives an enhanced contact with the bike and adds to the overall
comfort.
We have been testing over the last few months with the application of
this coating. How to apply it and where to apply it. We are happy to
report that starting from January 2013 all our pads will be delivered
with the PU-coating applied. On special request it will remain possible
to order your pad without Velcro or PU-coating.
New developments
18-12-2011
In the last year we have also continued to improve and further develop our seat pads. We have introduced new shapes and sizes (well over a 100 versions) and started applying Velcro for the fixation of the Ventisit pads to your seat. We apply 2 strips (140x38mm) of Velcro with glue to the Ventisit pad and then secure that with 5 stainless steel staples. The Velcro fixation is now standard on all models suited for hard shell seats (carbon/polyester) and are delivered without extra costs.
